Ashland Karate Academy students Daisy Barnard and Alexandra Acevedo traveled to Tacoma Washington on Saturday, September 13th, 2014 to compete in a nationally ranked tournament called the City of Destiny Classic, hosted by Mike Shintaku, David Carman, and Dennis Elliott,
Alexandra competed and won awards in 2 divisions, She received 2nd place in Traditional Weapons and 2nd place i contemporary kata.
Daisy did especially well and placed 2nd place in traditional weapons in her age range and 1st place in traditional kata. Then competed for Grand Champion in 12 and under kata and won that as well
