It was quite a weekend! We got it all – rain, sunshine, chilly nights, blood, sweat and tears. On the bank of the Klamath River in Northern California, thirteen brave karateka came together to test for their black belt. Surrounded by instructors, family, friends and guests all the way from the East Coast, these students persevered and proved up to the task. For four days and three nights, each student was challenged to participate fully and give the best possible at each task. Thank you once again to all the Ashland Karate Academy members who participated in Saturday’s collection of food at the Ashland Food Bank. We helped bring in over 23,000 pounds of food to support those in need in our community. Thank you everyone!

Ashland Karate Academy had 22 students attend Chip Wright’s Champion Karate’s tournament on April 16th, 2016. Everyone went home with at least 1 medal. Everyone did a great job. Daisy, Pepper, and their family traveled to Denver, Colorado to compete at the USKA National Championship. They both competed and did great. Daisy received medals in both Weapon Forms and Traditional Forms. She got 2nd place in Weapons and is now the National Champion in Traditional Forms in her age group.
