What is “mind like water”? What does it mean to have a peaceful mind?

Belt Test June 2016

It was quite a weekend! We got it all – rain, sunshine, chilly nights, blood, sweat and tears. On the bank of the Klamath River in Northern California, thirteen brave karateka came together to test for their black belt. Surrounded by instructors, family, friends and guests all the way from the East Coast, these students persevered and proved up to the task. For four days and three nights, each student was challenged to participate fully and give the best possible at each task. Ashland Food Drive

Thank you once again to all the Ashland Karate Academy members who participated in Saturday’s collection of food at the Ashland Food Bank. We helped bring in over 23,000 pounds of food to support those in need in our community. Thank you everyone!

Many students take awards at local tournament

Ashland Karate Academy had 22 students attend Chip Wright’s Champion Karate’s tournament on April 16th, 2016. Everyone went home with at least 1 medal. Everyone did a great job. Daisy Wins National Championship in Kata

Daisy, Pepper, and their family traveled to Denver, Colorado to compete at the USKA National Championship. They both competed and did great. Daisy received medals in both Weapon Forms and Traditional Forms. She got 2nd place in Weapons and is now the National Champion in Traditional Forms in her age group.

Ashland Food Bank Volunteer Day

Black Belt Club Members of the Ashland Karate Academy will be volunteering next Saturday morning, April 9th at the Ashland Emergency Food Bank. The Food Bank receives food items from the Ashland Food Project collection and supports the needs of our local community.

**UPDATE**

Great job Black Belt Club Volunteers. Everyone braved the early hot day of spring and helped collect over 25,000 pounds of food for our community. Well done!
